To me, *Khili Dhoop* symbolizes pure, unfiltered happiness, warmth, and a deep sense of well-being. And that’s exactly what I hope to create through my work.
Every piece I make is crafted slowly, thoughtfully- carrying a little bit of that sunshine within it. A reminder of comfort, positivity, and simple, beautiful moments.
So the name isn’t just a name - it’s a feeling I hope you experience every time you wear something from Khili Dhoop.
My Story
Some stories begin with a moment. Mine began with a feeling.
A feeling of wonder - standing in fabric shops as a child, surrounded by colors, textures, and endless possibilities. A feeling of joy - learning crochet at the age of ten from a grandmother whose patience shaped more than just skill. And a feeling of quiet pride - creating something with one’s own hands for the very first time.
I am Shipra Alam, and Khili Dhoop is a reflection of that journey.
Crochet and embroidery were not just hobbies for me - they were my escape, my therapy, my way of expressing what words could not. I still remember crocheting my first shawl at twelve, imperfect yet deeply cherished. I remember discovering embroidery in school and thinking of it as painting cloth with threads.
But as life moved forward, these simple joys were left behind. A career in marketing and communications filled my days with deadlines and demands, and somewhere along the way, the quiet rhythm of creating was lost.
Until one day, I chose to return.
Return to slowness.
Return to making.
Return to myself.
Khili Dhoop was born from that decision.
Every piece you see here is made with love, patience, and intention. Each stitch carries a story - of time taken, of care given, of something created not in haste, but with heart.
